“The Navigator’s Nest” features maps of Milbridge and the Narraguagus Bay region on the front; Pigeon Hill, Trafton, and Pond Island on one side; Flint Island and Nash Island on the other side; and Harrington’s Ripley Neck and Pleasant Bay on the back. The artist custom-printed NOAA navigation maps onto tissue paper and transferred selected portions of the map to the birdhouse. It’s topped with a weathered gray roof.
“Sunflower” is a one-of-a-kind bird house (because I’ll probably never make another!) that uses a dried gourd. This cheerful tiny house features a sunflower on the front and a couple of busy bees on the back.
Many thanks to Viking for donating the lumber for the project and to Paul Bennett for building them!
