Winter scene with deer

December has arrived with January’s chill in Coastal Maine. So far this month, our average temperature has hovered around 20 degrees. Three rounds of snowfall have transformed the landscape into a winter wonderland. Thankfully, the accumulation hasn’t been too deep. Old Blue, our trusty but aging tractor, is currently out of commission. Hydraulic issues have sidelined Paul’s snow-clearing efforts, leaving him waiting for milder weather to tackle the repairs.

Earlier this fall, I set up a couple of cameras by the pond and have been delighted by the deer friends they’ve captured. I hope these glimpses of Maine wildlife bring you a bit of joy as well.
