Where did April go? It has flown by in a whirlwind of new beginnings, travel, and garden hopes.

I spent some time dabbling with my new basket-making skills with this garlic basket.

And this basket that wraps around a jar for posies, pens, or whatnot.

Our culvert outlet of March’s driveway woes is free-flowing.

And we had ice out on the pond, now full of frog eggs. It should be a stellar frog season without a duck to nibble them anymore.

Winter had its last hurrah the day I headed to Pennsylvania for a Spring visit with Dad.

Hannah joined me for the front end of the trip to Dad’s.

It took two attempts to get her back to Maine with her flight canceled and rescheduled for the next day.

Dad and I made the trip to leave flowers at the cemetery for Mom. I was pleased with this bouquet, which included daffodils, hyacinths she planted, and some sprigs from the Red Bud tree in their yard.

I spent two days sorting through a lifetime of stuff in my parent’s boat garage. With the help of Dad, my brother, and my sister-in-law, we filled this dumpster and made seven trips to GoodWill. Whew!
And mom’s gnarled red bud tree brought me joy, just popping into bloom.

In the basement exploration, I found an early Susan Jordan artwork I vaguely remember creating in school.

I enjoyed watching Hannah create and spent some time working on a website where she could share her watercolor collages and block prints. More to come on that.

After enjoying Spring in Pennsylvania, my return to Maine showed more signs of hope, like these tiny daffodils along the edge of the woods.

Our garden rabbit has resumed her morning nibbles in the yard.

The deer are out in force.

The trees are teeming with the spring and summer birds.

I enjoyed my first meander in the woods and returned home with too many ticks. Ugh.
It’s a joy to reconnect with nature. I’m filled with gratitude for the memories made and the hope that continues to blossom around me. Here’s to the promise of May and the adventures it will bring. But Time, please slow down!
