I can’t remember the last time Hannah and I went out for a hike together. This morning felt like an invitation: the weather was glorious—temperatures in the sixties, sunny skies, and a crisp hint of autumn in the air. I was determined not to let the day slip by without venturing beyond my porch. Hannah suggested we bring Gidget and Murphee along. I hesitated at first, knowing the pups hadn’t tackled a long walk in ages (and Gidget is 11). But we decided to take them, and they had an absolute blast. Neither pup was particularly fond of the water rolling over their toesies. Gidget’s main goal was to keep up with me, while Murphee wanted to savor every new sight and smell. I’m grateful for days like this–quiet adventures, shared laughter, and the simple joy of being together.
