I’ve read that a glimmer is a small moment of joy or peace that arises from appreciating simple things. This morning, that glimmer was an unexpected photoshoot from my living room: a white-tailed mama deer and her youngster wandered through the yard. Thankfully, I noticed them before the pups, whose barking usually scares wildlife away. The deer paused, watching me as I watched them, before they slipped quietly into the woods and disappeared from view.
I keep a spot in my planner to record these glimmers. When life feels stressful, reflecting on these moments helps ground me—and it’s even better when I have a photo to accompany the memory.
