I’ve spent the last two evenings wandering around Verbena at Milbridge Commons. The late September light is soft, the shadows are long, and the colors are spectacular. What makes it even more magical is watching a dozen hummingbirds flit about, enjoying this beautiful banquet before migrating south. At this point in the season, all of them appear to be juveniles. Each day at home, I expect to see the last of the hummingbirds for the season, but so far, that has not been the case.
