After so many gloomy days, we deserved the beautiful weather the weekend brought. Here are a few of my weekend snapshots. This year’s only Pink Lupine in the morning dew.

A critter’s eye view of White Columbine (I think!)

Purple Lupine framed by my Asian Lilacs.

My lilacs are drawing happy friends, including this Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.

And a Clear Wing or Hummingbird Moth – one of my favorite visitors.

A bumbling bee.

A Doodle Duck.

And this gorgeous Cardinal. He wanted to visit the feeder but was a bit skittish, flying off as other birds swooped in.

We put this new-to-me recycled arbor at the door to Gidget’s yard. The gate door is the back of an old bench I had hung onto for years – even after the sitting portion fell apart. The fact that it was just the correct width – amazing.

Hannah planted Cardinal Flower at the base. With luck, sunshine, and rain, the arch will soon be covered with the flowering vine.
