Enchanting Winter Woodland Owl Wreath from Downeast Thunder Farm

The Enchanting Winter Woodland Owl Wreath is my second entry for WHRL’s 2021 Winter Tree Festival. Inspired by a wreath I spotted on Pinterest, I scoured the woods for some young trees with thumb-sized branches. Four lengths snipped 14″ long were left to dry for a couple of weeks. Paul used a brad nailer to tack the corners for me to form the window.

I used two Hobby Lobby artificial juniper bushes and divided them into sprigs that I hot-glued to the back of the branch frame.

My Long-eared Owl is enlarged to 6″ tall from ears to tail. A tiny hole drilled into the bottom branch holds a firm wire that supports the felt owl.

I embellished the top with baking soda/corn starch clay stars—more about those here. This was a super simple project that can be enjoyed all year long.

There are three more weekends to the festival. What comes next?
