This weekend we were blessed with sun and temps in the 60s. After working much of Saturday and ending the day feeling disgruntled (ask me sometime about losing me losing my temper over the missing meatballs), I needed to get outdoors.

We went for a drive and ended up at Red Point Park in Lubec. The park is one of 11 new shorefront parks, part of the Cobscook Shores system. It was a little piece of heaven on this autumn day.

Easy to walk paths meandered through the woods

and through meadows

with peeks of the shore along the way.

It was low tide, and we were able to walk across to Red Point Island, accessible by foot only at low tide.

Stepping stones visible when the tide is out lead the way and help keep you out of the muck.

Pavilions and picnic tables invite you to linger along the way.

It was a super spot for bird watching.

And squirrel watching.

I look forward to bringing Hannah this fall to explore the entire trail.

Red Point is truly a treasure with more of these parks in Cobscook Shores to open in 2021.  https://cobscookshores.org/red-point-shorefront-park/
