One of the things Hannah and I enjoy doing in the spring is to search for goslings. When the sun broke through on Sunday afternoon, we departed with our cameras and searched the typical spots.

Beals Island has been our “go to” the past couple of years to spot the babies.

Picking our way across the rocks at low tide allowed us to get close enough to this isolated field for a peek. At first glance you don’t notice the deer and geese.

Take a closer look and there’s a resting White-tail deer who doesn’t seem at all concerned about the nesting Canada Geese.

Four deer in all.

All the critters kept a close eye on us as we lounged on the rocks watching them.

It was a lovely visit, but we didn’t spot any babies.

Yet, on the way home, just by happenstance, we spotted this little four-pack of goslings with their parents.

Mission accomplished!
