Have you ever noticed how cats like to sit on a “spot?” These random spots are kitty magnets. The spot may be a newspaper sitting on the floor. A dish towel that’s fallen off the counter. A t-shirt left on the bed. A box lid sitting on the floor. A place mat on the table. A lone sock in the laundry room.
Here, Cinder’s spot is a square of felt I left out. Why do you suppose kitties do that?

Exactly! I have noticed this with my two cats, too, Haley and Peep. Even yesterday I set a lid to a plastic box on the carpet, and Peep came out cautiously to check on it. I left the room, and when I came back, that silly cat is sitting on the same lid! Haley does that very same thing, however, and I have no idea why. Just know that you’re not alone in the world of strange cats!
