I had some computer work planned for today. My mistake was parking myself on the sofa to do said work. I got a little distracted with the show outside the window. I can’t remember a day when I spied so many different varieties of birds all in one day.

Chipping Sparrows flitted in and out of the trees – often chased away from the feeder by other birds.

The bandit faced Nuthatches swoop in and out so quickly it’s hard to snap their picture.

The Black Capped Chickadee – my most frequent visitor along with the Dark-eyed Junco.

I couldn’t help but notice the irony of this photo.

There were lots of Purple Finches.

Both male and female.

White-throated Sparrows made an appearance.

As did the Chickadees.

The boys were territorial often chasing the girls away from what was left of the sunflower seed.

And this is a first. I don’t think I’ve every spotted a Rose Breasted Grosbeak at my feeder before.

He stayed all afternoon, a bit skittish when other birds landed at the feeder.

This beautiful Bluejay popped in a couple of different times.

This Hairy Woodpecker was a treat – it’s usually Downy’s that visit.

A flashy departure.

A Robin diving from it’s perch on the clothesline.

A Robin and Daffodils – incontrovertible proof of Spring!

As you can see – I didn’t get much work done today.
