Last summer I waxed poetic about the best grilled cheese I’d ever had. Today we returned to Chase’s Daily and the 90-minute drive on a gorgeous September day was worth it.

Chase’s Daily is a busy little farm-to-table vegetarian restaurant located in a quaint storefront on Main Street in Belfast. Wood floors, brick walls and painted tall ceilings finished in painted tin give the restaurant a wonderfully cozy fee.

We enjoyed a starter of Sicilian olives, crusty bread, and cheese.

Tempted or order the grilled cheese again (it truly is amazing), I opted for something different with these enchiladas. Sauteed greens, corn, and potatoes topped with crema and green sauce. Hannah had a Thai fried rice with fresh green beans and Paul a brick oven summer squash pizza.

It was all wonderful. We agreed that it’s a good thing we don’t live closer or we’d go broke eating out. What’s equally as wonderful as the menu is the bakery and farmer’s market tucked in the back of the restaurant. The colors, textures, and display of the veggies and flowers were like candy for the eyes!
