He Gets Me
A little known fact about me is that I am incapable of cooking a grilled cheese without burning it. I am forever scraping carbon off the burned side. I’m an okay cook, but there are so many things going on in my mind at any given time, that I tend to get distracted and wander away from the short-order cooking project. Let’s just say that I’m not a particularly good multi-tasker.
You can see why I got a chuckle out of Paul’s Valentine’s Day card – accompanied by a sweet little owl sun catcher.
Another little known thing about me is my pen fetish. I love pens. They don’t have to be expensive, but they have to feel good in my hand and glide across the paper. From the basic Bic to fountain pens, I love to test them all. I can spend a lot of time in office supply stores.
My favorite valentine gift from Paul was during our first year of marriage. He handed me a Staples shopping bag full of brand new pens in all colors, shapes, and sizes. Nirvana.
There’s no doubt that Paul gets me – which after almost 19 years is a good thing!
Happy Valentine’s Day, Paul!
