Yesterday, when it was somewhat moderate outside, Hannah asked if we could go for a hike today. Today turned out to be a frigid 27 degrees with a crisp breeze added to the mix. Still, we motivated and hiked the Hollingsworth Trail at the Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge.

The biting wind had us bundled in layers, hats and gloves.

Crazy as we are, we stopped to lunch on this Adirondack bench and watched the sea ducks in Pigeon Hill Bay. We saw loons, surf scoters, and horned grebes.

We froze our tushes off taking the requisite self-portraits.

Hannah insisted our self-portraits are too boring.

So we played for the camera a bit.

Until we fell into giggles.

And decided we needed hot chocolate and headed home.

On the way home, a flock of geese honking overhead moved southward.
