The past few days have been a delight – beautiful weather and an amazing assembly of birds on the farm. Never have I seen such a variety of birds here at one time.

The regulars:

  • Dark-eyed Junco
  • Blue Jay
  • Black-capped Chickadee
  • Crow
  • Mourning Dove
  • Red-breasted Nuthatch

Along with these newcomers:

A White-throated Sparrow and his less flashy mate.

What I think is an Eastern Pheobe – she was very shy, never coming too close.

A pair of House Finches.

I’m all but certain I saw a Bluebird this evening, – I scared him off when I ventured out to snap his pic.

I’m not sure what’s so special about this year that is bringing such a variety of beautiful birds to my yard, but I hope it continues!
