Day three of my homecation involved a mother-daughter hike to Bog Brook Cove in Cutler, Maine. The hike out to the coast took us through a variety of terrains – fir forest, oak forest, and birch forest before we finally made it to the coast.

We parked ourselves on the rocky beach and watched the seals, startled by our appearance, slide into the water. They swam around, bobbing up every now and again taking a peak to see if we were still there. Sea gulls soared overhead while fishing boats cruised in the distance. We didn’t see another person the entire hike. It was a most wonderful day.

Hannah has requested a change of pace for tomorrow – a slower pace!
