Overnight Mother Nature dropped eight inches of snow resulting in Snow Day #2 of the year. Once the front moved out, Hannah and I strapped on our snowshoes and headed out exploring.

We trooped up the woods road and then ventured into the woods.

I wasn’t sure how long I would last in the bitter cold and biting wind. Once in the woods the trees blocked the wind making the trek much more enjoyable.

We marched up hills, down ravines, and through blueberry patches. Only when we hit a stream did we turn around and follow our tracks back for fear of becoming lost.

It was amazingly quiet. The only sound our snowshoes breaking through the fresh powder and the crunch of frozen branches.

Roaming through the maze of snowy trees was otherworldly. We decided that it felt like walking through Narnia in winter reminiscent of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

This is the first snowshoeable snow we’ve had since Christmas. Cold temps are foretasted for the foreseeable future ensuring more time to explore the Back 40 on snowshoes.
