Hannah, age 12, is playing junior high basketball. She has a new coach this year, one who has been running their behinds off! She’s learned a lot and has had to work hard.
Tonight, the Milbridge Tigers won their district championship. Go Tigers!
In one of the night’s playoff games, Hannah made two baskets – her first of the season! I missed the game because I was driving the 13-hour return trip from Pennsylvania where I was visiting my parents. I could cry (thankfully they’ve got a few more non-district games to come).
Later, Hannah shared the play-by-play, excited by the team’s win. After weeks of complaining of sore muscles and aching knees I asked her if all the work was worth it.
Her reply was, “Oh YEAH!”

On the First Day of Spring
