I spent the week after Thanksgiving with my folks in Pennsylvania. As I was packing up the night before returning to Maine, Mom presented me with the 60 Second Pomegranate De-Seeder and said, “You can’t leave without something from Granny Gadget.”

I do love Pomegranates. They are one of my favorite things about the holiday season. They are such a beautiful color fruit with tasty little bursts of flavor and full of vitamin C. I’m the only one in our home who really enjoys them, but I sneak them into dishes whenever I can.

With the Pomegranate De-Seeder, Mom sent along a dozen pomegranates (of course).

I checked out the web site for the de-seeder at www.seedout.com. A video shows how to use the gadget. I followed the instructions to the letter.

My advice is to lay a kitchen towel over the fruit before tapping out the seeds. The juice tends to spatter and my new t-shirt is now soaking in the laundry. After rinsing the seeds there was a bit of pulp to pick out, but all in all the 60 Second Pomegranate De-Seeder made quick work of serving up the seeds.

Nice pick, Mom!
