I love these afternoons when I finish work early enough to putter in the garden before dinner. This afternoon I did some weeding and deadheading and just enjoyed being outdoors – ducks looking on from their garden plot.
Weed and feed at my house has a different meaning than using Scott’s products. I kill my weeds by hand. Clearly, I’m not very good at weeding because there always seem to be more the next day. Although, “more weeds” is not really a bad thing – especially when it comes to the Colonel and The Girls. So now you know what I mean when I say I’m off to weed and feed!
Our winter was rough but yours was worse. I don’t have as many critters as you do. I miss my hens and 3 generals and chuckled when you posted your colonel.

Dorothy, the yellow hens are buff orpingtons. I have found them to be the sweetest, most mild mannered of all the girls we’ve had so far!
